Shipping, warranty, resizing, Returns, and Payments
Shipping
Free Shipping Australia Wide
Shipping is free for all of our Australian customers. We use Express shipping with Australia Post. Once your ring is finished and packed, we’ll send you a notification with the tracking details. The ring will arrive within 2 days after you receive the notification if you live in metro area. It takes 3–5 days to send to rural areas and Northern Territory.
Free International Shipping
If you live outside of Australia, you won’t be left out. We offer free standard shipping worldwide with Australia Post for all our wooden rings. Free shipping is applicable for the rings containing no precious metal (silver, gold, platinum) and no gemstones. On average, it takes 10–25 Business Days, depending on which country you are in and how remote is your location.
We have two more options for our international customers. You can select Express postage, it will cost you about $AUD29 and the package will arrive in 4–10 Business Days after we send it to you. For an even faster option, you can go with a courier. We use DHL. It takes 2–10 days, and it is very reliable. The price for DHL $AUD55
All the rings containing precious metals and gems will be sent via DHL courier. The price for DHL $AUD55.
Make Time and Estimated Delivery
It usually takes us about 3–4 weeks to make a ring. In cases where we are crafting a custom ring for you, it might take a bit longer. But we’ll let you know the estimated time in the design process before you order.
Tracking
When the ring is ready and packed, we’ll send you a notification in the email with the tracking details. It is either going to be Australian Post tracking number or DHL tracking number if you are outside Australia.
Signature on the Delivery, Insurance, and responsibility
To ensure a safe arrival, the delivery person will ask for a signature on the delivery. If no one is there to sign, you will get notified, and you’ll be able to pick up the ring at the post office. Please make sure that someone trustworthy is at the address where we are sending the package, especially if you are sending it to a work address. The person signing does not have to be the one who ordered it.
If you don’t want the signature on the delivery, and you want the ring to be left somewhere, please make a comment at the checkout. Either way, our responsibility ends after we hand over the package at the post office. If you would like a bit more security, read the next paragraph.
With every order, you have an option to select insurance that covers the package for loss or damage during the transport process. If you select this option, our responsibility for delivering the package extends to the point when the package is signed off (does not have to be from the one ordering).
Discreet Packaging
The parcel will not have any visible logos or names that will give away that it is coming from Wooden Ring Store. Just in case, you want it to be a surprise. One exception is if the items are sent via DHL. The return address will start with “Wooden Ring Store”.
Warranty
A 1-year Warranty
Our wooden rings are made with the highest quality materials and craftsmanship. We are confident in the durability and longevity of our product, and as such, we are proud to offer a 1-year warranty to our customers. The warranty covers potential defects of the rings that might happen due to the crafting process. The warranty starts on the day that you receive the ring. The defect has to be assessed by us, so you will have to send the ring back to the shop and take care of the shipping fees.
Warranty Exclusions
The warranty against defects does not cover loss, changes in colouration (as wood naturally changes colour over time), careless handling or improper use… In other words, if you stick your finger between the door while closing it, causing the ring to break and potentially saving your finger from massive pain – that is not covered. If you use your ring as a bottle opener – that is not covered either. We think it is fair.
Wooden Rings Warranty Against Normal Wear and Degradation
Because we care, our rings are also covered for one year against any normal wear and tear that happens because of normal ring use. You can send the ring back, and we will give it a new coat and polish. We will also patch any small cavities and scratches. This is free of charge within the first year after the purchase of the ring. You only have to pay for the postage (both ways).
Making a Warranty Claim
Please contact us via email or fill out the form here before sending the ring back to us. You’ll have to provide a proof of purchase. After you tell us what is wrong, we’ll ask you to send the ring back to us. You will need to pay for the ring to be posted to us.
Resizing
1 resize policy
Getting the correct size when buying jewellery online can be a challenge. Even in person shopping for rings can result in a ring that does not fit perfectly. That’s why we offer one free resize for our rings within 30 days of receiving the ring.
However, there are some cases where this offer is not applicable:
- Some custom orders – where we worked together to design a new piece of jewellery, or sent in materials to be used in the item,
- complicated designs with gemstones,
- rings that have been resized before.
Resizing process
To start the resize process, please contact us. We’ll assess the situation, and ask you to send the ring back to us. Different types of rings go through different resize processes.
Rings with wooden base: If the ring is just a bit too small, we take some of the material from the inside, re-coat it and send it back to you. In case the ring is too big or if it is way too small, we’ll make a new ring for you.
Rings with alloy base: The wooden inlay gets taken out of the ring, we then resize the ring and insert a new inlay into the ring.
Engravings during the resizing process
One thing to note is that engraving will either partially fade away or disappear from the ring entirely when the ring goes through the resizing process.
Returns
You can return most of our jewellery, for a full refund within 14 days. Items that can’t be returned are:
- custom orders – where we worked together to design a new piece of jewellery, or sent in materials to be used in the item
- items with gemstones
- rings that have been resized
To be eligible for refund, please contact us within 14 days of receiving your order. The item must come back to us in its original, unaltered state. We can’t accept damaged, resized, or otherwise altered items. If you have any questions, please contact us.
Return Shipping Charges
While we offer free shipping in most cases for the initial purchase, we ask you to cover the shipping costs to us and then back you in case of a return, resize or re-coat and refresh of your jewellery.
Payments
We accept all the major Credit Cards, PayPal, and Direct bank transfer.
For orders of higher value, we can arrange a payment plan for you in a form of a deposit. You can pay 33% deposit when ordering the items and the rest is due once we finish the order, before it is sent to you.
At the moment, we accept payments in the following currencies: Australian Dollars, US Dollars, NZ Dollars, Canadian Dollars, Euro and British Pound. In case you want to use a card with different denomination, you will get charged Australian dollars and your credit card provider will automatically convert it into your currency.
